Wandering Hearts was originally established in 1964 in New Hampshire. Originally known as Wayward Orphanage, they operated in that location for a number of years, "serving the community and sheltering the tragically unwanted of America with open arms." The name was changed in the late 1990‘s to create "a softer, more open image."
Sometime before the website's creation, their old location became "no longer lease-able", forcing them to move to an unspecified location; upon further inquiry, the administrator account on the website responded, "We’ve moved down south!", to a location that is speculated by players to be the 979 area code in Texas.
